Another first for South Australia from the people who brought you the smash hit, “Beautiful, The Carole King Story”

David Gauci and Davine Productions celebrates 10 years of the best of music theatre with another highly anticipated Adelaide debut show, a musical comedy about gratitude and fresh beginnings.

Producer/Director, David Gauci performed in the professional production of A New Brain in Melbourne and has wanted to bring this quirky musical to South Australian audiences ever since.

A New Brain is by Tony Award-winning composer William Finn (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Elegies and Falsettos) features more than 20 songs, 11 larger-than-life characters and an orchestra of nine.
Vocal arrangements are by Tony-Award-winning Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Bridges of Madison County, The Last Five Years) and the Book by James Lapine and William Finn, ensures a memorable and uplifting night of musical comedy and drama.

This is a team with serious Broadway credentials!

“A New Brain manages to be one of the most life-affirming, most heartfelt musicals written in the last decades of the twentieth century…” Scott Miller (Author, composer, artistic director)

With music inspired by Broadway composers like Sondheim, Bernstein, Porter, Rodgers and Hart A New Brain touches on themes of dysfunctional relationships, family, life and death struggles and the healing power of time and music.

William Finn faced his own mortality after a medical emergency and wrote this semi-autobiographical account of his life and death experience. Surreal and humorous, this is the musical he thought he may not live to write.
